Food Carts in Portland Site
Just saw a posting for a site dedicated to Portland food carts. After working downtown for a almost all of my working career, this is a site that I am glad to see, and even more glad that I didn't have to invest the time to create it myself!

Portland Hamburgers
A long time ago I wanted to start a site that reviewed Portland hamburgers. Never did, and now I stumble upon this post from extra msg. Nice to see the subject is getting covered somewhere.
Without going into details, my favorite burger at the moment is the one from the bar at Higgins.

Crudo
NPR ran a story over their story of the day podcast feed on crudo, an Itallian preparation of raw seafood. Didn't see a local resteraunt in a quick google search, so I started a thread at portlandfood.org.

Review of India Chaat House
Today for lunch I made the 9 block hike from my work to the India Chaat House to try it out. Overall, I enjoyed the food. There was the expected line when I arrived at 12:10, and I would say it took about 7 minutes to get to the front. I ordered the lunch special, and rather than making me one fresh they gave me a special that had been ordered by phone but not picked up. I didn't really care but thought this would be the test to see if the food was still good by the time I made it back to the office.
I have to say that the lunch was better prepared than all of the other Indian food carts I have visited downtown. It does not taste as good as a restaurant where the dish might have been prepared fresh, but the spices and other flavors were more balanced and it tasted like care and expertise went into the preparation. The portions were much larger than necessary, but that seems to be an expectation of the Indian carts in general. They were not as big as some of the other carts where the food was not as good.
I give the cart 4 out of 5. Good enough that I would go back if I was craving Indian and had the time for the walk, but I am not dieing to pay another visit.
